As a sports presenter, Mike claims to have tried out 550 different sports.
The host also went viral after falling while broadcasting live on air from a swimming pool.

Mike spent his teenage years in Yorkshire after growing up in Hertfordshire. In 1977, Mike’s family moved to Harrogate where he attended Granby High School.

Who is Mike Bushell and how did he start his career in TV?
Mike had a passion for acting which saw him join the National Youth Theatre and prompted him to study theatre and television at university.
While studying in Winchester he began working at a local newspaper, kickstarting the journalism career that he’s sustained to this present day.
In 2006 he joined BBC Breakfast and has reported from global events all across the world.

Mike has three daughters from his first marriage which ended in 2009.
In May 2019 he married Emily, a marketing executive, whom he met in a neighbouring village.
