Kate Silverton is one of the UK's leading newsreaders, and won new fans for her appearance in Strictly Come Dancing in 2018.

Kate Silverton is one of the most experienced journalists, and currently presents various news programmes for the BBC.
She worked for a London-based bank before becoming a journalist. She trained with the BBC, before becoming a reporter and presenter at Tyne Tees Television.
She was also a panellist on Channel 5's The Wright Stuff and featured on The Heaven and Earth Show, Big Strong Boys, and Weekend Breakfast, before joining BBC News.
Kate Silverton was born on August 4, 1970. She is 48 years old, as of 2018.
She was born in Waltham Abbey in Essex, and is the daughter of Terry Silverton, a black-cab driver and hypnotherapist, and Patricia Silverton. She has two sisters, Claire and Amy.
Kate was a junior swimming champion, and also competed in the triathlon. She graduated from St Cuthbert's Society, at Durham University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, having previously studied Arabic and Middle Eastern history.
Kate Silverton married Mike Heron, a former Royal Marine, in December 2010.
In November 2011, she gave birth to a baby girl named Clemency. Her baby was conceived naturally, after four unsuccessful cycles of IVF. She had been told she was unlikely tto get pregnant naturally, after losing an ovary during an operation to remove a cyst at the age of 29.
In June 2014, at the age of 43, Silverton gave birth to a son named Wilbur.
Silverton is 5ft 10in tall.
She has previously spoken of suffering from embarrassment when she was younger, due to her size nine feet.
